Metoprolol
Metoprolol is a selective beta-1 blocker used to treat high blood pressure, angina, heart failure, and certain heart rhythm disorders. It slows the heart rate and reduces the force of heart contractions.

- Antidiabetics — metoprolol can mask hypoglycaemia symptoms
- Rifampicin — reduces metoprolol blood levels
Dosage Information
Doses vary by indication. For hypertension, typical doses are 25–200 mg daily. Extended-release (succinate) is taken once daily; immediate-release (tartrate) is taken two or three times daily.
